What you can run on the A100
The NVIDIA A100 is an Ampere-generation datacenter GPU with 80 GB of HBM2e memory (a 40 GB HBM2 variant also exists). It has no FP8, but it supports BF16, TF32 and INT8. Rent it here by the hour, paid in crypto, with root access over SSH.
Typical tasks
- Training and fine-tuning in BF16 or TF32
- Inference of mid-size language models in BF16 or INT8
- Serving larger models split across several cards
- Research and experiments that do not need FP8
- Batch jobs: embeddings, evaluation, data processing
What fits
A rough inference guide, in billions of parameters: weights only, about 20% left for context; real limits depend on context length and the serving engine. It assumes the weights take up to 80% of the total memory, at 2 bytes per parameter for BF16, 1 byte for FP8 and half a byte for 4-bit. With several cards, the serving engine splits the model across them. The A100 has no FP8, so there is no FP8 column.
| GPUs | BF16 | 4-bit |
|---|---|---|
| 1 GPU | 32B | 128B |
| 2 GPUs | 64B | 256B |
| 4 GPUs | 128B | 512B |
| 8 GPUs | 256B | 1T |

A100 FAQ
What size of model fits on one A100?
As a rough guide for inference, with the weights taking up to 80% of the 80 GB: about 32B parameters at BF16 and 128B at 4-bit on a single card. Real limits depend on the context length and the serving engine. The What fits table on this page also covers 2, 4 and 8 cards.
How much memory does the A100 have?
80 GB of HBM2e per card. A 40 GB HBM2 variant of the A100 also exists, so check the memory in the Specs section before you order.
Does the A100 support FP8?
No. The A100 works in BF16, TF32 and INT8. For FP8 you need a newer card such as the H100, the L40S or the RTX 4090.
Can I rent more than one A100 in a server?
Yes. Servers come with 1, 2, 4 or 8 GPUs. The live table at the top of this page shows which sizes are offered right now; a size that is not offered can be asked for and is quoted by hand.
Do I need KYC?
No. You sign in with your e-mail and pay from your own wallet.
